Auctioneer’s note: This is a great opportunity to acquire top quality stud – and commercial Drakensberger breeding cattle from one of the country’s top Drakensberger herds. The Bollie Drakensberger Stud originated by applying a breeding policy focussed on economic characteristics, namely: adaptability, fertility and milk to produce heavy weaners, good feed conversion ratios, good growth with medium to slightly heavier animals. The stud has been in existence since 1971 and maintains an annual ECP of 365 days, a calf percentage of above 97%, average weaning weights of 249 kg at 205 days and has achieved the best producing cow within the breed twice. Received several Gold and Platinum awards for bulls as well as Elite Breeder of The Year award for 2015. Pregnancy status of female animals will be confirmed day of auction.
Herd health: Herd runs on severe Redwater and Gall Sickness veld and is given P6 phosphate lick in the summer and protein lick in the winter. Herd tested negative for CA and TB and is Trichomoniasis free.
