  1. Jo Jenkins says:

The Introductory Course looks very interesting.
    What language is used please?
I am Chairman of the British Boer Goat Society and also a member of SABGBA.
It may be that if the course is in English we here in the UK could contact Michelle and negotiate a price for this to be used in the UK for our members?
The price is shown in $ rather than Rand, is this US $?
    Thank you.

    • Zahne Bezuidenhout says:

      Good day,
The course is indeed in English, and the price is in US $. A US platform is used to present the course, that is why the price is listed in US $. Please feel free to contact us for any further information.

      • Jo Jenkins says:

Thank you for your reply. This course is mid-week. Once purchased, is the course downloaded so that the content can be studied and watched on other days?

        • Zahne Bezuidenhout says:

          Hi Jo,
The Information booklet is downloadable, but unfortunately the videos are not. We have extended the times of the course to 20 April 2021 from 00:01 GMT to 23 April 2021 23:59 GMT to give students access for a longer period of time to be sure they grasp the concepts completely before attempting the exams. The course content can be accessed at leisure within this period, meaning students can study at their own pace when it is convenient for them. It would take a student roughly 3-5 hours including the examinations to complete the course if the videos are watched once.

        • Douglas Mujana says:

Can i have dates for your next course ?

          • Zahne Bezuidenhout says:

            Hi Douglas,

We are planning a course in the near future, definitely before the end of the year. Keep an eye on our pages and website for information and updates.

    • Nico Gariseb says:

I am in Namibia and it’s practically impossible to attend the course is it not possible to provide me with the study material of the course so I could also learned and have a some knowledge about farming as I am also farming with goat’s and sheep and cattle if possible.

      • Zahne Bezuidenhout says:

        Hi Nico,

The course is presented online only and is available internationally as long as you have an internet connection. We have a course next week again. If you have any further questions, please don’t hesitate to ask.

  2. Mathiba says:

Hi is this a virtual course

    • Zahne Bezuidenhout says:

Yes this is a virtual course with all the material supplied to you on the first day of the course.

      • Kim says:

Would be kind enough to tell us what times the course is running please

        • Zahne Bezuidenhout says:

          Hi Kim,
We have extended the course running times to give everyone enough time to study the material before attempting the examinations. The course content will be available on 20 April 2021 from 00:01 GMT to 23 April 23:59 GMT.

  3. Craig says:

Is 150usd not a bit steep for south Africa

    • Zahne Bezuidenhout says:

      Hi Craig,
$150 might sound like a lot, but it is the equivalent of roughly R2200. The cost of a junior course in South Africa easily costs upwards of R1000 per student, travelling and accommodation costs also needs to be added to that. For this course there is no travelling or extra accommodation costs and you have the advantage of being able to watch detailed videos more than once to grasp the concept completely. Hope to see you in the course.

  4. Kristine Piliena says:

Hi. I am the head of the Latvian Goat Breeding Association. Currently, our country is also interested in the breeding and evaluation of Boer goats. I am an expert in the evaluation of dairy goats. I am also interested in Boer breed evaluation. Is it possible to obtain a certificate after attending these courses 22 and 23?

    • Zahne Bezuidenhout says:

      Hi Kristine,
Please note that the course dates have been extended. The course content will now be available on 20 April 2021 from 00:01 GMT to 23 April 23:59 GMT. There is a certificate of completion for this course after you have passed the exams.

  5. Isaac Raditladi says:

I’m very interested in the course but not sure if I’ll available.

    • Zahne Bezuidenhout says:

      Hi Isaac,
We have extended the course to give students the time to completely grasp the concepts before attempting the exams. It will now be available on 20 April 2021 from 00:01 GMT to 23 April 23:59 GMT. Because the course is presented online, students have access at leisure within this period to all course content. It will take a student roughly 3-5 hours to complete the course (including examinations) if videos are watched once.

  6. Joanne Hyde says:

Could you please tell me how many hours the course will be? I have commitments on those days but I’m hoping to squeeze in the course. It looks amazing.
    Kind regards,
    Yeramba Boer Goat Stud

    • Zahne Bezuidenhout says:

      Hi Joanne,
Apologies for only getting back to you now. The course will roughly take 3-5 hours to complete from start to finish including the exams, so it is absolutely possible for someone to do the course after hours. Hope to see you in the course!

      • Darren says:

I’m hoping your going to have more of these courses I’m sure there is a demand out there Thankyou Darren

        • Zahne Bezuidenhout says:

          Hi Darren,

We are planning to do another course before the end of the year, so keep an eye on our pages and website for updates.

  7. Rod Gardner - SARBO Farm Thailand Boer Goat Stud says:

I completed the SA Boer Goat Introductory course and found the presentation and content very worthwhile. Overall I gained valuable knowledge and understanding of Boer, Kalahari and Savanah breed fundamentals. The process was easy to follow and understand. The content was excellent and the presentation factor was of high quality. The time involved was reasonable and it was possible to take a break and resume where you were last at. The price point is fair. Highly recommended for all new goat farmers starting out. Thank you SABGBA and BKB for this opportunity. When is the next course coming available?

  8. Trent says:

I’m trying to sign up for the course but it keeps telling me school isn’t published right now. Is this an online course that is always available ??

    • Zahne Bezuidenhout says:

      Good day Trent,

The course is only available on certain dates unfortunately. Please keep an eye on our pages and website in the near future as we are planning to host a course again before the end of the year.
